Yoga for Adults
As we enter the later stages of life, maintaining a healthy body and mind becomes more and more important especially in the current pandemic. This session features light exercises, chair yoga, and pranayama, an ideal daily routine for older adults.
Session: Saturday, May 29, 10 AM – 11 AM EST
Naresh Sirwani was introduced to yoga philosophy and practice as a young boy through shakha. With regular practice, he experienced the benefits first hand. Later on, he pursued Yoga Teachers Training with Yoga Bharati to further his own knowledge, with the intention of helping others live happier, healthier lifestyles. |
Yoga in Brazil (Lecture)
In recent years, yoga has become widely accepted and appreciated in the West. The speaker will share his perspective on the integration of yoga into Brazilian culture and how the local people have embraced it.

Yoga for Women
Women, according to the yogic philosophy are the manifestation of Goddess Durga, are the source of life on the planet and the union of all kinds of energy. A woman advances through multiple phases of life, and takes on various roles throughout. The techniques taught in this session help women to embrace the feminine, and find the strength to tackle the challenges of life.

Rashmi Hooda is a practicing yoga enthusiast & trainer with a certification in Hatha, Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training Course. She volunteers as an instructor for a weekly women’s yoga workshop, with the intention of building togetherness in the community. |
Yoga for Vishwa Shanti (Lecture)
Yoga is a Sanskrit word with its root being ‘yuj’ which means to join or to yoke. This joining implies the connection of one’s individualized consciousness to the universal consciousness all around us. For such a connection to be made, one has to journey within because the finitude of the world around us cannot give the infinite happiness that many seek. The speaker will share his journey of finding yoga and a perspective on the benefit of yogic philosophy to the world.

Jean-Denis Richard started to practice Yoga in 1973. Born and raised in te province of Quebec, he realized the greatness of Yoga over the years. Since completing his B.Sc. in agriculture from McGill University, he has been practicing organic farming. He is a ardent devotee following the path of Yoga through the Self Realization Fellowship. |
Yoga for Families
Yoga for Families embraces the concept that ‘a family that works together stays together’. This session seeks to strengthen family bonds and deepen the connections by bringing all members together in a positive environment.

Shubha Shrivastava is a yoga professional with Qualified Master Degree from Sri Vivekananda Yoga Anushandhana, Bangalore, India. She attended a full time apprentice program in Arogyadhama, a holistic research health home. For the past several years, she has been helping members of the community to balance health and move towards positive living. |
Yoga for Students and Professionals
Yoga for Students and Professionals focuses on relieving the aches and pains of prolonged sitting. Along with the physical implications, mental stresses are also on the rise. Doing regular yoga helps calm the mind, tone the body, and prepare us to tackle the challenges of our day to day lives.

Veena Padmanabha began her Yoga journey at the age of 13, in Hassan, Karnataka, India. She is a yoga teacher certified by Akshar Yoga Foundation and also a certified instructor registered with World Yoga Organisation. Since 2020, she has been conducting online yoga classes in Canada. |
